New Release: Cloud Nine

How do you like the new digs? I'm sort of revamping everything...blog, shop, logo, etc. And while it has been fun, it's taken a very long time!

I'm a day late posting this! Sorry about that. I doubled my charges yesterday (as in I watched a friend's kids) and that kind of took it out of me! Without any further adieu...Introducing Cloud Nine: a sweet little mini. Enjoy!

Remember: New Releases are 20% through Sunday!

Inspiration Wednesday: Gender Anyone?

Megg here with this weeks...
Let me give you a little background about me. I have a 4 year old little girl, and a two year old little boy. I love my little ones dearly, but I can't tell you how many times I wished that the same page would work for both kids. To be honest, that's one of the reason I love digi scrapping. I can do family pages for holidays or vacations, and no one has to fight over the book because everyone can just as easily have their own copy.

Back to my dilemma. It's not so easy to do this when you've got a boy and a girl. If they were the same gender it wouldn't be a big deal, but I can't seem to swallow having the wire flowers on my little mans page. So for this weeks inspiration, I thought I would make a layout and try and make it gender neutral enough for both of them, with a few changes in some of the details, of course.

For these pages I used the new kit Serendipity. It was so versatile for either boy or girl, and I love the awesome spring colors that Mary used. SO CUTE! You can click on the preview below to find it in Mary's store.

So I started off with this layout that I did with using the Road Map to Scrap Challenge at SM last week. I loved the way the pattern papers turned out with my photos. Those cousins are so dang sweet! This was for my little girl...
And then for Mr. Man, I took away a couple of the more girlie elements, and changed up the pictures and re-wrote the journaling.

Then Voila! Two pages done. So give it a try. I think the key is just starting a page thinking that you might want to use it for two different genders and then swapping the details isn't such a big deal! Have a great week scrapping and go be inspired!

Give Away Monday March 21, 2011

Hi!  Lynett here with another Give Away Monday!  I have been scrapping like crazy with the wonderful new kits that Plum Dumpling Designs has released this month.  One of my favorites is A Walk In the Woods
The first page I made with the wonderful kit has nice clean lines, and although I used it for a landscape I believe it could be used for all kinds of pages.  So I decided to turn it into a quick page for all you blog readers.  Here is the layout I made.
And the preview of the quick page.
You can download it here.  Enjoy!

Inspiration Wednesday!

Maybe you are one of those people who live in the South. You love the look of those winter/ snowy kits, but you have no idea what to use them for. Or maybe you live up North, and love all those warm, summer, beach kits...but you haven't been to the beach in years!

Today's Inspiration Wednesday is all about thinking outside of the box! Using those themed kits you love, in a way that works for you! Why not use that winter/ snow kit for photos of the kids eating popscicles, or that beach kit for photos around the pool or running through the sprinkler!? The best way to do this, is to pick some of the non themed elements, and one or 2 of the themed elements, and using them on your page, in a way that highlights your photos!

Here are some examples using Mary's products in a not so typical way! Take a look!

This one uses Summer Storm for a winter layout!

This one uses A Photo a Day for a fun dress up/ cooking page!

This fun bathtime page uses Funny Face

And this ouchie one using All American Hero!

So, go grab that beach kit, and scrap your daughter's Malibu Barbie she got for Christmas, or grab that All American Hero kit to show how brave your son was after a trip to the Dentist! Can't wait to see what you come up with. Make sure you check out Mary's store at ScrapMatters for some fun kits to scrap outside of your comfort zone!

Give Away Monday March 7, 2011

It's time for another give away Monday. I don't know about you but it has been crazy around my house lately. Colds and all kinds of activities have keep me hopping from one place to another. In the process, my P365 stuff has gotten pushed to the side. I have been taking my pictures, but doing the pages has not been one of my priorities. When I do get around to doing them, I know I like to highlight one photo on each page (the best one of the group). Plum Dumpling Designs has a perfect kit for those P365 pages, A photo a day
And to help you highlight that one special photo I made a wonderful frame cluster from this kit.
You can download it here. Hope you enjoy it!
