Getting Ready...
I'm not sure about you, but around our house, we have one more month of school left, and you know what that means, right? TRAVELING! We have 2 getaways scheduled for this summer. The key to surviving these vacations/ getaways is planning ahead! I personally think this pertains to our DigiScrapping too! I love to collect kits that I know will help me in scrapping all my fun vacation photos! And I would rather start collecting them before we go, than waiting until we get back to start shopping! I want to be able to scrap all those fabulous memories as soon as we get back (and are unpacked, laundry done, etc). One way to do this, is to think of what fun things you'll see, and places you'll go. Will you be going to a museum? a canoe trip? the beach? Or just staying around your own home? Whatever your plans, it's fun to start dreaming about your vacation or staycation ahead of time, and planning your kits too!
Mary has some fabulous kits to help you plan ahead (digi-wise) for your next vacation:
You can find these kits and more, in Mary's Store Plum Dumpling Designs at ScrapMatters.com
Have a great Wednesday! Dawn

Choo Choo! ScrapMatters iNSD 2011 Blog Train
Our theme for this iNSD is "vintage, feminine, romantic, trendy." Uhhh...I struggled with what to share!! But I did come up with something. Each year we go on a flea market, craft show weekend in October. We travel along the Spoon River Drive here in IL and find all sorts of treasures.
One of my very favorite purchases from these trips (ok, my parents bought it...I was in high school!) is my antique brass bed. They found it at The Barn, the BandB that they stayed at. My mom was so excited to bring it home for me. It was a little tarnished, but we both knew that it would be spectacular with a little TLC!
So I set to work restoring my bed. I spent several evenings in the garage. Sometimes with help, sometimes alone. But I got that brass to shine like the top of the Chrysler building! There are so many things I loved about my bed. I loved the brass, of course. I loved the antique springs and the way it would bounce! I loved all the work that I put into it. I've always thought that I would love to pass it on to my daughter if I ever have one. If not, I guess I'll just have to wait and see if I have a granddaughter! For now it will remain in our extra bedroom for guests.
This LO was created using the new ScrapMatters' Collab, Timeless. It's free with purchase for iNSD, so be sure to hop on over and check out all the new goodies at incredible sale prices!
And now onto my freebie! Look familiar, hehe!
Link will only be valid until May 14, 2011 (8am PST). After that, you'll be able to grab the goodies from the shop though if you missed it!!

Enjoy and Happy iNSD!

Sneak Peek
Wednesday, May 4, 2011
This week is also fun because it's Teacher Appreciation Week for many schools. I don't have any children in school yet, so I decided I wanted to scrap about one of my favorite teachers. She was my first grade teacher, and actually taught my three siblings too! We all loved her, and actually went back to visit her when I graduated high school (I'm the oldest). I've had these pictures lying around for ages and decided it was time to scrap them! I had to scan the pics, so the resolution isn't the best, but it's better than nothing.
So, for this weeks inspiration, why not think about one of your favorite teachers and scrap a page in their honor? Maybe you only have a picture of them from your yearbook-so scan it! And maybe you don't have a picture at all. But that's okay; sometimes the best pages have no pictures. Be creative, have fun, and think about what it was about that teacher that made them your favorite. Did they inspire you to dream? Encourage you to try? Saw potential in you that others didn't see? Whatever it is, scrap it! And maybe it's not a school teacher, maybe just a mentor or even a teacher from your church. Teachers give so much to shape and help us, and I feel it's important to remember them. I'll be doing a couple of more pages this week about some other teachers I had too, but here's one with my siblings and I and our first grade teacher.
Be sure to include a link to your page in the comments!
I used Plum Dumpling Designs kit, "Serendipity" for this. I loved the bright colors! And the cute alpha is her "Basically Black Alpha" which is perfect for school themed pages!
